Ventura Projects crossed the ocean for the second edition of Ventura New York - the Dutch edition,  during the NYCxDESIGN Week. Ventura New York showcases the work of seventeen of emerging talents from the low country to the American audience in New York City.

Seventeen of the brightest and most talented Dutch designers shared their vision on the theme Human Nature in a group exhibition at WantedDesign Manhattan during NYCxDESIGN 2017. The exhibition Human Nature reflected on the current hopes and fears of the designers in response to a rapidly changing world. The presented projects revolved around three themes: Manmade By Machine, New Nature, Extra Ordinary

The works demonstrated a wish to interact, to connect and to grasp time. Through the crafting hands of the designer a moment of mutual recognition was created — products, materials and technologies are deployed to make a gesture of solidarity, ultimately revealing the designers’ human nature.

Many works evoked playful interaction with the audience, inviting them to hear the full, often important story behind the products, materials and technologies shown.

This program is supported by the Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York as part of the Dutch Culture USA program, Creative Industries Fund NL and Organisation in Design.

Seventeen emerging Dutch designers will showcase their qualities and unique vision at WantedDesign Manhattan during NYCXDESIGN 2017.
